Dr. Thurmond, a life long resident of Galveston County, has been practicing veterinary medicine since 2006. Her love of animals and participation in the Houston Livestock Show & The Galveston County Fair & Rodeos provided the direction that would eventually lead her to Texas A&M University; she received a Bachelor of Science in 2001 and a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 2005. After graduation, she started practicing at Austin & Associates, which became VCA Mainland Animal Hospital in February 2009; Dr. Thurmond was named Medical Director in June 2010. She and her health care team work diligently to provide the local community with quality animal care in a professional environment. Currently, Dr. Thurmond resides in Santa Fe; she enjoys spending time traveling and scuba diving. She shares her home with her dogs Winkie, Rosie, Jessie, and Woody. .
Dr. Webster grew up in Houston, TX. She attended Texas A&M University and obtained her Bachelors of Science with honors in Biomedical Science in August of 2004. Dr. Webster graduated from Texas A&M of Veterinary Medicine Summa Cum Laude in May of 2007. Following graduation, she completed an internship at Michigan Veterinary Specialists. Her hobbies include cooking, hiking, and reading. She and her husband, James, enjoy dancing, scuba diving, and spending time with their dogs. They have a golden retriever (O'Malley), a collie (Wilson), a bull dog (Scar), and a cat (Skittles). .
Dr. Guthrie grew up on a dairy farm in western Oklahoma. He attended the University of Oklahoma for two years, majoring in pre med. He then transferred to Oklahoma State University to pursue veterinary medicine. He received his B.S. in premedical science in 1971 and his DVM in 1974. After practicing in Shreveport and Tulsa, he opened a practice in south Oklahoma City. Nearly twenty-eight years later, Dr. Guthrie sold his practice in 2005 and moved to Galveston, TX where he and his wife, Coleen enjoy long walks on the beach, bike rides, and the great area restaurants.
